The varied spectrum of new acquisitions from six years shows how the collection of the Kunstmuseum Albstadt, under the direction of Dr. Veronika Mertens, has continued to grow into the future within the collection concept: with important works for the focus on 20th century Dresden art as well as significant groups of works from the 21st century for the Graphic Arts Collection. 
Among the new acquisitions in the area of Dresden art are works by Annemarie Balden-Wolff, Klaus Dennhardt, Conrad Felixmüller, Lutz Fleischer, Otto Lange, Albert Wigand and Willy Wolff. Further significant additions were made to the Prints and Drawings Collection, including works by Martina Altschäfer, Daniel Bräg, Ulrich Brauchle, Kerstin Franke-Gneuß, Eckhard Froeschlin, Susanne Hartmann, O.W. Himmel, Katharina Krenkel, Volker Lehnert, Fritz Leibfritz, Jürgen Palmtag, Gerhard Opitz, Günter Schöllkopf, Ansgar Skiba, Ava Smitmans and Brigitte Wagner.
